Ultrasound application

Ultrasound therapy is a treatment with high frequency sound waves (above 20 KHz). It is widely used in the treatment of many pathological conditions, such as:

  • Ligament injuries
  • Tendonitis
  • Bursitis
  • Swelling
  • Hematomas
  • Myalgias etc.

The therapeutic effects of ultrasound are:

  • Analgesia
  • Hyperemia
  • Increase the healing process
  • Increase the elasticity of the connective tissue
  • Reduction of edema

The use of ultrasound is contraindicated in cases:

  • Osteoporosis
  • Malignancy
  • Sensitivity
  • Pacemaker
  • Metal prostheses

Be careful not to use it close to the heart, genitals and eyes.
