Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy C.I.M.T.
The C.I.M.T is a method of therapeutic approach and restoration of the upper limb function in patients with hemiplegic syndrome due to brain damage.
The effectiveness of treatment is closely linked to the forced use of the affected limb as the healthy one is restricted throughout the therapeutic approach.
There are many therapeutic protocols for applying the method (depending on the nature of the problem, age, living conditions, etc.). Success is based on the knowledge of the plasticity of the brain and the creation of new “pathways” of communication between neurons to create new “channels” of communication in damaged areas.
